What to expect at your first visit

During your first visit to West Maple Dental, several important steps and procedures typically take place to ensure comprehensive care and establish a baseline for your oral health. Here's an overview of what you can expect:

Warm welcome and introduction to the team

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the dental office staff at West Maple Dental. The receptionist may ask you to fill out new patient forms, including your medical and dental history, contact information, and insurance details. You can plan ahead by downloading and completing the forms above.

Medical and dental history review

Dr. Krawitz will review your medical and dental history to understand any existing conditions, medications, or previous dental treatments. This information helps in tailoring your dental care to your specific needs.

Oral examination, professional cleaning, and diagnostic radiographs

A thorough oral examination will be completed by Dr. Krawitz, checking the health of your teeth, gums, tongue, and other oral tissues. Depending on your oral health history and the assessment, X-rays may be taken to get a more detailed view of your teeth and the underlying structures.

Treatment planning, discussion, and education

Based on the examination and any X-ray findings, Dr. Krawitz will discuss the current state of your oral health and propose a treatment plan if any issues are identified. This may include recommendations for future appointments, such as fillings, cleanings, or other necessary treatments.

Scheduling of follow-up appointments

If additional treatments or follow-up appointments are needed, the front desk staff will help you schedule them based on your availability.
